Wade in the water
(traditional)
Wade in the water
wade in the water, children
wade in the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Well, who are these children all
dressed in red?
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Must be the children that Moses
lead
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Wade in the water
wade in the water, children
wade in the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Well out of the mountains come fire
an' smoke
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Jehovah nobody be he...spoke
God's a-gonna trouble the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Wade in the water
wade in the water, children
wade in the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Well I'm walkin' down the highway
an' the water's gettin' low
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Walkin' down the highway
Nowhere to go
God's a-gonna trouble the water
But it's wade in the water
wade in the water, children
wade in the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
God's a-gonna trouble the water
Handsome Molly
(traditional)
Well I wish I was in London
Or some other seaport town
I'd put my foot on a steamboat
And sail the ocean round
While sailin' round the ocean
While sailin' round the sea
I'd think of handsome Molly
Wherever she might be
Don't you remember Molly?
You gave me your right hand
You said whoever you marry
I would be the man
But you broke your promise
Go with whom you please
My poor heart is aching
You are at your ease
I went to church last Sunday
Molly came riding by
I could tell her mind was changing
By the folding of her eye
I go down to the river
For everyone to see
I think of handsome Molly
And I begin to weep
So I wish I was in London
Or some other seaport town
I'd put my foot on a steamboat
And sail the ocean round
Grand Coulee Dam
(Woody Guthrie)
Well the world owns seven wonders
as the travelers always tell
Some gardens and some towers I
guess you know them well
But now the greatest wonder is
in Uncle Sam's fair land
That King Columbia river and the
great Grand Coulee Dam
She come up the Canadian Rockies
where the crystal waters glide
Comes a-roaring down the canyon
to meet the salty tide
From the great Pacific Ocean to
where the sun sets in the west
That big Grand Coulee Country in
that land I love the best
In the misty glitter of that wild
and windward spray
Men have fought the pounding waters
and met a watery grave
Once she tore men's boats to splinters
but she gave men dreams to dream
That day that Grand Coulee Dam
went across the wild and restless stream
Oh Uncle Sam took the notion in
the year of thirty three
For the factory and the farmer
and for all of you and me
He said: roll it on Columbia, you
can roll out to the sea
But river, while you're rolling
you can do some work for me
Now from Washington and Oregon you
can hear them factories a-hum,
Making corn and making mangonies
lying all over the ground
Always a flying fortress to blast
for Uncle Sam
That king Columbia river and the
great Grand Coulee Dam
Well the world owns seven wonders
as the travelers always tell
Some gardens and some towers I
guess you know them well
But now the greatest wonder is
in Uncle Sam's fair land
That King Columbia river and the
great Grand Coulee Dam

di: Shelter from the storm, It ain't me babe, To Ramona, Slow train.
Una curiosità
è costituita da Grand Coulee Dam, canzone di Woody Gutrhie alquanto
rara proveniente da una vecchia compilation dedicata a Woody da tempo fuori
catalogo.
